The law firm roots date to 1956
when Louise Raggio left her job as Dallas County's first
female assistant district attorney to join the law
practice of her late husband, Grier Raggio, Sr. In later
years, all three sons -- Grier, Jr., Thomas and Kenneth
-- joined the firm incorporated as Raggio & Raggio,
Inc. The total legal experience of the five lawyers with the firm
is over 160 years.

-= Louise Raggio =-
- Mrs. Raggio, who is now retired, is considered a "pioneer in marital and
family rights." She has been called the "Mother
of Family Law in Texas." Her involvement in the
Marital Property Act in 1967 "brought Texas into the
20th century." As chair of the State Bar of Texas'
Family Law Section, she spearheaded the Family Code
project in 1979, making Texas the first state with a
unified family code. For that effort, she received the
State Bar of Texas' highest honor and was the first woman
elected Director to the Board of Directors of the State
Bar of Texas in its more than 100-year history. On the
national level, she served in influential leadership
positions with the American Bar Association and the
American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers. Among her most recent honors
include being selected as a 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006 and 2007 Texas SuperLawyer and receiving the Dallas
Bar Association's Morris Harrell Lawyer of the Year Award.
Mrs. Raggio is an inductee in the Texas
Women's Hall of Fame and a recipient of numerous awards
and honors, including the first recipient of the Dallas Bar
Association Outstanding Trial Lawyers Award, the
prestigious Margaret Brent Award from the American Bar
Association, a listing in The Best Lawyers in
America, as well as having Southern Methodist
University (SMU) in Dallas found a
Lecture
Series in her name. A

by several generations of Texans who look up to Louise as an icon and role

-= Kenneth Raggio =-
- Kenneth is a past Chairman of the
American Bar Association's Family Law Section, the
world's largest family law organization. He is credited
with increasing involvement and revamping the
15,000-member section, especially in areas to help family
law attorneys render better services at reasonable cost
to their clients, including divorce mediation. Ken is
also one of six private practitioners in the U. S. named
to the Board of Advisors for the American Law Institute's
Restatement of Family Law Project. The Project had the
formidable task of recommending changes to carry family
law into the 21st century, and published its authoritative Principles
in 2002. A frequent author and lecturer on Family Law
topics to state, national and international family law organizations, and
listed in Who's Who in America and Who's Who in American Law,
and The Best Lawyers in America, Ken
is a quoted source of legal information in publications such as
The Wall Street Journal, USA Today, The Washington
Times, The Dallas Morning News, Dallas Child, Canada's National Post, and The Texas Lawyer,

- Grier, Jr., a Texas lawyer since
1968, returned to Dallas eleven years ago from Manhattan
where he practiced family law for over 20 years. A Harvard College graduate,
he has written numerous articles on family law and two books,
the more recent titled How to Divorce in New York. He has been selected as a 2005,
2006, 2007, 2008, and 2009 Texas SuperLawyer. Louise,
Ken, Tom, and Grier have all been selected as
Fellows in the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers.

Barbara
G. VanDuyne

Barbara Geddis Van Duyne practices exclusively in
the area of family law. She received her J.D. decree from Southern
Methodist University. She previously was a psychiatric nurse
(B.S. R.N.). She is a member of the College of the State Bar, the State
Bar of Texas (member of the Family Law Section, she has been on the State
Bar Grievance Panel - past PEP Chair), Dallas Bar Association
(member of the Family Law Section, Fee Dispute Committee,
Ethical Committee-past chair, and Judicial Committee). She
currently serves as an officer of the Dallas Bar Association's Family Law
Section. Although
she litigates all family law matters, she is also a mediator and a member
of the Collaborative Family Law Group of Texas. She been on the
Board of Texas-Our Kids and is an active member of Target
Kids in Court. She is a frequent speaker and lecturer on family law and
ethical
matters. She is also a Barrister in the Annette Stewart American Inns

Julie Krenek
Julie Krenek, a 2008 graduate of SMU School of law, had an
extensive background with banking and spreadsheets prior to her coming to
Raggio & Raggio that makes her adept in "mining" discovery responses to find
out "where the money went" or in many cases, "where is money is lurking."

and all have made presentations over the years to the Advanced Family Law
Course, the largest annual CLE course in family law in the nation.
