New Laws Affecting Family Law 2003 Texas Legislative Session
The Texas Legislature passed numerous bills affecting the family and family law practice. Visitation was changed, economic contribution was clarified, and a new specie of property is formally recognized in Texas (HB885 amending Sec 7.002 (b)). Extensive work has been done clarifying the related but different roles of attorney and guardian ad litems.
The following link lists most legislation by Bill; test most became effective on September 1.
